Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 (February 27, 2010) Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small community that is located in the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. The West Island, to those not familiar with it, is a vast area that extends from Lachine to the west. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island, although this is not true. Brugel developed on Courtice close to Oshawa in Ontario. She had a dream to become a dancer, but an increase in her height led to her growing beyond her dance partner. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that in heels she was 6 feet 1 inches tall. After I outgrew the male counterparts, I gave up. Many former dancers turn to acting and in the case of Brugel, it was a suggestion by her teacher of drama. The teacher suggested she try getting a part in the school's annual play. After a few auditions the role, she was chosen as the leading lady of Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she earned her BA in Fine Arts at York University. For the past twenty years, her roles in the world of television and on the screen have been varied. The role of Rita from the award winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most memorable. Brugel was the sole Canadian on the Season 1 actors of the series and only seen occasionally was the only Canadian.
