Dua Lipa is a English singer and musician born on 22nd August 1995, from London United Kingdom. After a stint as a fashion model her decision was to join Warner Bros Records and release her debut album "Dua Lipa" in the year 2017. It climbed to the third place on the U.K. Chart for Albums. Eight singles were released, among them Be the only I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules (UK number one). It also rose to number 6 within the United States. Lipa won an award at the Brit Awards in the year 2018 for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act and her album was certified platinum across several countries around the world. Dua Lipa was born London on August 22 1995 to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is the reason she has Bosnian origin. Her ancestors are also traced back to the Kosovo town of Peja. The grandparents of Lipa's grandfathers were both history professors. Her brother is Gjin Lipa, and a younger sister Rina. Lipa learned to play the guitar and sing with her father Oda. Oda is the singer/guitarist who leads the Kosovan-rock band Oda. At home her father continued playing music which included his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa was just five years old when she started singing. She attended the Sylvia Young Theater School was the first place she began to sing at the age of nine. Lipa performed If I Ain't Goin' to You from Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa has signed her first recording contract in 2014 through Warner Bros. Records. New Love, Lipa's debut single was released on August 2015.
